There's a lot to celebrate. Eggs, the original superfood, have cracked a new milestone with 18.9 million being consumed in Australia every day. This equates to a total of 6.9 billion eggs consumed in Australia this past year*. We really love our eggs!
So why are more Australians reaching for the humble egg? We partnered with YouGov to learn more about eating habits, and discovered that Aussies prioritise 3 key elements at dinnertime:
Taste & Flavour
Simplicity & Time-Efficiency
Nutrition
With the recipes below, you'll see that eggstick all threeeffortlessly. Keep scrolling to discover simple, flavourful, and versatile World Egg Day recipes. And stay tuned for another World Egg Day Challenge at the end!

Layers of pasta, creamy sauce, and crispy bacon create a delicious dining experience that turns the standard pasta on its head. A slice of carbonara, please!
Tender soba noodles, vibrant veggies, and a delectable egg on top. Umami miso dressing. Need we say more? This wholesome dish will revitalise your soul in every bite. Pure green goodness.
35% of Aussies find cooking dinner to be a stressful experience. But why?
After a long day at work, most of us are tired and exhausted (52%)*. We head to the supermarket and find most things are expensive (41%)*.
After making do with what we can purchase, we find ourselves strapped for time, feeling uninspired (40%)*, and pressured to cook something simple and quick before the evening turns to night. And then we do it all over again the next day.
It's no wonder why nutritious, versatile, and affordable eggs are becoming the go-to option at mealtimes.

How about both? When looking at the nutritional value of an egg, itβs important to take a look at everything in the shell instead of individual elements. Yolks contain 100% of an egg's vitamin D, whereas whites contain more protein (but only by a marginal amount). Choosing to eat one over the other means you're missing out on all 13 essential nutrients found within an egg.
